Who is this course NOT for?
Project managers with oceans of working experience – don’t want to waste your time.
PMs who think just buying the course is all you need to do. Sorry folks, whilst we dramatically shorten the time you need to understand this subject area you need to put the work in okay?
So what is it about then?

Using our approach based on our own project experience you will be able to understand and manage the elements of Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies on any project. Oh and we are throwing in C (constraints) as an added bonus.

Together these cover the real variables in any project and as a project manager you will have to get to grips with them, not just understanding what they are but in a practical way. That's where we come in. We believe that we all learn better by using practical examples, but in addition to this we teach how to look at these five concepts generically so that if you move from one sector like construction to another like IT you will be able to easily get to grips with RAID + C anywhere.

Oh and we give you a spreadsheet with loads of practical examples to follow during the audio PLUS an empty spreadsheet you can use straight away if you need to and finally if you are not actively working on a project at the moment we give you a case study to work through - sound good?

A RAID log is a basic project management tool and it is one of the most important tools you can use on any project of any type. It can be applied at the beginning of the project or during it; in fact it should be used to monitor the changing nature of a project. As it involves the whole team and is a great tool for improving communication. Lastly it helps to show the main stakeholders that the project is under control.

There are many enhancements to the basic tool and the RAID+C tool, by Keith Rickman, is a very good one to use.

A RAID+C log includes Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies and then adds Constraints. Using this tool you will gain very good knowledge of the state of your project; much better than looking at a Gantt chart etc. It can be used at the top level of the project or deep down on a small part. It is best used by the people actually doing the work with the guidance of the Project Manager. This will help the team members to understand how their work affects others on the project.

Keith has created a very informative video training course which takes the student through the basics, from understanding what each part of the log does and then how to produce, and use, on any project a very comprehensive set of data. He also takes you though how to use the tool with your project team members and stakeholders, in order to maximise the wider effectiveness of the tool on your projects.

I thoroughly recommend anyone not familiar with RAID logs to take the course as it will improve your management of a project greatly. The tool is simple to use but the effects are impressive and you’ll use the tool in every project once you learn the techniques. Keith’s training course will take you from a novice through to being a ninja RAID+C expert.
